ali Kshetram is an ancient temple in the heart of Kozhikode town. Lord Shiva is the presiding deity. The Jyothirlingam in the Sanctum Sanctorum is believed to have been installed by Lord Parasuraman. The temple is one kilometre to the east of Kozhikode railway station. It is surrounded by Palayam market.
Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple. Devotees have to follow a strict dress code. Men have to wear mundu. Mundus are available on rent for a fee of Rs. 10. New mundus cost Rs. 150. Women are expected to wear saree or salwar kameez. Young girls are permitted to use long skirts and blouses.
This was the family temple of the Zamorins who had ruled Kozhikode. Although the temple is now under Malabar Devaswom, the Zamorin is the managing trustee.
The temple is built in traditional Kerala architectural style. The two storied sanctum-sanctorum is in the shape of a chariot. It is adorned with murals and granite sculptures of Lord Shiva’s retinue. Pooja timings are from 4:30 to 11:00 am and 5:00 to 8:30 pm.

cated 16 km away from Kozhikode in the south India state of Kerala, the beautiful place called Kappad beach was discovered by the Portuguese explorer Vasco Da Gama during 15thcentury. It is nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city, making it an ideal beach holiday destination for relaxation. Dotted with fascinating formation of rocks on all its sides, the beach landscape includes several coconut groves and long stretches of silvery sands drenched by lathered surf that soothingly rolls up and down the shores.

Beypore is not meant to be touristy place in reality. It is a port and have long history for centuries which makes it really interesting.
It has nice beach due to the breakwater, but expect crowd since it is the major port in North Kerala for both commerce and fishing community. There are hundreds of fishing vessels around all time. While entering the port the road splits into three. One to the beach side and breakwater where most tourist go, one to the Beypore port, another to Beypore fishing harbour. While there is no restriction on going towards beach, to enter the port you may need to pay a small entry fee and security restrictions apply. Beypore port will have passenger ships and cargo ships along with traditional sail vessels and Wooden vessels(urus). If interested in fishing activity, one can go the fishing harbour and see the fishermen in work.
Towards the beach the north break water is there which is around 1km long into the sea. Its nice to walk and get closer with sea. But yea expect all sorts of crowd and parking may be difficult in evenings and weekends. The stretch of beach is calm and family friendly to play with.
Between Beypore beach and Beypore port, there is Bank to Bank shipping service. You can get to the south side of the river through the service and even take your vehicle.

Amazing ecotourism site 30 KM from Kozhikode where natural forest beneath lies 3 Waterfalls the path towards first fall is easy but towards second and third is highly enduring and tough especially if kids are present , presently water is less but small rivulets flows through rocks with herb enriched Chilled crystal clear water , the final falls ends in a huge rock formation through with water flows ,the terrainwill be super tough during monsoon and also mountain water can flow suddenly ,after 4.30pm path towards 2nd and 3rd falls are closed the park closes by 5.30 , the site is no plastic no smoking zone , you will not be allowed to take anything including water , there were sign boards of wild animals but we didn't notice also leeches which are common in these conditions are also not seen may be it's not monsoon
Just near to 2 nd falls there is a Grandma tree which is said to be 413 years old the tree is hollow inside through which you can see the sky above

This is a must visit street while in Kozhikode, which is nothing but a middle class market street with both platform shops and regular shops of all classes. This street has been relaid with nice flooring tiles like high street in UK with no road vehicles not being allowed and you are free to walk. The shops are extending in the cross cut streets also. it is quiet a big area. All items are available here including textiles, readymade dress for men, women and children, many foot wear shops, sweet shops, watch&clock shops, kitchen utilities and crockeries, juice stalls, a few restaurants etc.. The rates are very very reasonable.

A nice place there by some brands such as: Calvin Klein, Tommy hilfiger, Adidas, Puma, splash, city Max. And some stores that sell clothes traditional Indian. There is it restaurants meals and a quick as well as a restaurant cooking eating the Arab. And place of games for kids and supermarket, close shops in about pm 9 and half. "My visit was on Wednesday," but restaurants open to the time 11 almost, place worth a visit.
