Spanning almost a quarter of a mile, this round earthworks was an amazing construction feat 2,000 years ago.
The Great Circle and the Works museum are one of the few indicators left from what historians believe are the first civilization from the US - the Missippians, Hopewells, or collectively the Mound Builders. Awe sweeps over you as you stand within the circle of these massive man made mounds away from the din of commercialism and progress that has swept through this area as you imagine life from over 2000 years ago in this very spot. Great preservation and informative museum make this a perfect destination for the concerning history buff or the fervent nature lover.

My husband and I have been here twice this summer and it won't be our last trip. It's a small place - an old gas station? - with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are very friendly and make you feel at home. The music selection is great with songs from U2, Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Train, Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, and more. The beers are pretty good - have had the Irish red, cream ale, and blonde. Not my favorite craft beers but still good. Tonight Smitty's BBQ food truck was there and it was delicious! I'd give Buckeye Lake Brewery 5 stars if the beers were a little more to my liking, and if it were right on the lake.

we go for " paws on the patio" when you can bring your dog to dinner. We haven't brought our dogs.. we just love watching all the dogs. It is a real fun night. Wait service is always super friendly and the food is good.

National Trail Raceway is definitely a nice track. My wife says the best part is the regular bathrooms down under the grandstands!.

I have made fun trips to Newark with husband and daughter and stayed both times at Double Tree by Hilton, which is right across from the Midland. We came in October several years ago to see Paul Reiser (had just finished binge-ing seasons of Mad About You), and enjoyed being in the richly recently renovated Midland very much, especially as we could walk a very short ways back to our hotel. We had actually seen him arrive at the theatre from our hotel window earlier in the day. It was a wonderful short getaway not far from home.

The scenery from this beach is terrific. We brought food from the Pizza Cottage that was nearby. Withe our dog our side, we (2 adults, 3 children...12,15 and 17) sat at a picnic table, enjoyed the pizza and watched the activity on the water. Very nice beach and picnic area!

Did a little wine tasting and as we drove up, we thought we were lost. It was someone's home but when we drove around back, there was the surprise. Great views; nice patio and you can tour the vineyards with the owner. Both owners were really friendly and fun to talk to. They grow most of their own grapes and everything else they buy is still from Ohio. We love dry wines, which was good because they were very limited on the sewwt wines they had left. There are some nice selections and they sell maple syrup from down the road.

We had a great time checking out The Works! My son is 6 and he loved everything there. We even saw a glass blowing demonstration which was really neat! You can easily spend 3 hours here. There are a lot of educational, historical and just plain fun exhibits. I would love to come back when the weather is warm and their fountain is going/outside areas can be enjoyed.
